“In an era where employee retention is top of the HR agenda due to costly turnover, it is pleasing to note that at Rich’s we are still able to celebrate long service”, says VP: Human Resources, Loueen Jones.
According to the 2018 Retention Report released by Work Institute, it is estimated that 42 million employees will leave their jobs in 2018. While many studies report that most employees leave their current jobs for better–paying positions, this report shows that career development opportunities, work-life balance and poor management are consistently the real issues that cause employees to leave.
When asked the question on what has kept Waheeda at Rich’s Africa for so long, Waheeda said: “I enjoy the culture of the company. The team is amazing and I get to interact with a wide variety of people, which means that I am always learning. I am allowed to grow and show my potential. I am in a role that allows me to exercise my strengths. I am constantly challenged, which ensures that I never get bored. I have built strong connections and long-lasting relationships with my team and other parts of the business.
I feel that I add value to the company. It is for this reason that I have stayed with Rich’s for 25 years
